Interested in Social and Environmental Impacts of Extraction?
We at the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) are gathering information on the various tools and methodologies used by governments, extractive companies, multilaterals, donors, academics, consulting companies and civil society organizations to measure the non-fiscal costs and benefits of the extractive sector.
We are particularly interested in tools and methods that assess the various forms of “capital” that are impacted by extractive projects, such as natural capital, social capital, political capital, financial capital, physical capital, human capital, cultural capital and spiritual capital.
To help identify which tools and methods are being used by the global community, we’ve developed a questionnaire that only takes about 10 minutes to complete. To complete our quick survey, or find out more about the project, visit http://tinyurl.com/jzgnb88. And feel free to share the link with your networks.
We are also seeking others who are working on tools, methods and best-practice frameworks to measure non-fiscal impacts in the extractive sector. If you have any questions about the survey or would like to discuss the project, please contact me at nwoodroffe@resourcegovernance.org.
