NRGI’s governing board announced Gilbert F. Houngbo as its new chair. Houngbo is currently president of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and has also served as prime minister of Togo.

2021 Resource Governance Index Report: New Translations
NRGI has released the cross-country 2021 Resource Governance Index analysis in three more languages: Arabic, French and Spanish. The analysis follows the release of assessments of the oil, gas and mining sectors in 17 countries.

Women and Mining in Mongolia: Participation, Inclusion and Leadership
While Mongolia’s mining sector plays a significant role in the country’s economy, accounting for 40 percent of its gross domestic product, women are under-represented in the sector’s workforce. To increase women’s participation in the sector, a gender policy for the mining sector was introduced in 2019. This video explores the implementation of the policy, and highlights some of the women who have been instrumental in advancing gender equality in Mongolia.
