New Guide Helps Journalists Shed Light on Extractives Sector in Turmoil

Covering Extractives is a free, multimedia resource for journalists of all levels, drawing on NRGI's extensive experience in training journalists. The online guide includes an overview of the sector and key issues, insights from reporters, examples of extractives governance journalism, and sources for data and stories. Upgraded ResourceProjects.org Offers Robust Data on Extractive Companies’ Payments to Governments

Since 2017, ResourceProjects.org has been the only place to find all project-level payments to governments disclosed by oil, gas and mining companies. With this month's improvements, users can more easily find, track and analyze data that supports accountability in natural resource extraction. Explore the new site and read the blog post.

International Anti-Corruption Conference
NRGI's Alexandra Gillies will speak at two online IACC events next week. To join, sign up to the IACC and then register for individual sessions. At Climate Action: Time for Integrity (30 November) experts will explore the intersection of climate change and corruption, including barriers to climate action, impacts of climate governance corruption, and possible solutions. On 1 December Gillies will feature in The Future of Anti-Corruption in the Natural Resource Space: Building Strategies Across Different Levels. This workshop will explore the actions and strategies needed to advance the anti-corruption agenda at the international, country and local levels to tackle key challenges from state capture to bribery.
