Zoljargal Naranbaatar
Mongolia Officer
Zoljargal is based in Ulaanbaatar and supports implementation and research in NRGI’s Mongolia program, with a focus on areas including the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and data analysis.
Prior to joining NRGI, Zoljargal worked for EITI’s Mongolia office, providing support at a subnational level. She was responsible for coordinating and managing the pilot communications program, analyzing EITI data to raise awareness of developments in the extractive sector, and working closely with civil society members. Zoljargal also worked for Adam Smith International on its mining governance and policy program in Mongolia. She also spent several years with Chemonics on a USAID-funded economic policy reform project.
Zoljargal holds a M.A. in international and development economics from the Australian National University. She obtained bachelor’s degrees in mathematical statistics and business administration from Mongolian universities. She speaks Mongolian and English.
