On September 13, 2017, the Summits of the Americas Secretariat will host an expert discussion on democratic governance and corruption to initiate preparations for the VIII Summit of the Americas to be held in Lima, Peru, in April 2018.

The Summit of Peru, which has a central theme of "Democratic Governance against Corruption,” will bring together the heads of state and government of the Americas, representatives of civil society organizations, indigenous peoples, youth, the private sector, labor unions and other social actors.

The session will feature world-renowned experts including Natural Resource Governance Institute president and CEO Daniel Kaufmann and will be broadcast live through the OAS website. Panelists will be answering questions from the audience and to the queries that are made on Twitter @SummitAmericas, using the hashtags #AskSummitAmericas and #MoreDemocracyLessCorruption, and through the Summit's Facebook account @SummitAmericas.
