Fernanda Ballesteros
Mexico Country Manager
Fernanda leads NRGI’s work in Mexico and is part of the organization’s energy transition coordination group. Sheworks on research and advocacy efforts related to governance and energy transition in national oil companies, as well as lithium and other transition minerals.
Before joining NRGI, Fernanda was a program coordinator at Mexico Evalua, where she led work on transparency and governance of state-owned enterprises in the energy sector. Fernanda also worked as a legal and policy analyst in Mexico’s Federal Transparency Institute and its competition authority.
Fernanda has a law degree from ITAM (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México) and holds an M.P.A. from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. She also earned a postgraduate diploma in the economics of competition law from King’s College London.
