Juliana is based in Bogota, where she supports NRGI’s strategy implementation in Colombia and coordinates a civil society organization network with members in Peru and Colombia. For the Latin America region she focuses on gender and social justice, just energy transitions, citizen participation and governance, social and environmental conflicts, and sustainable recovery.

Prior to joining NRGI, Juliana worked for Fundación Foro Nacional por Colombia coordinating  projects related to extractive and environmental governance, territorial pacts for regional development, citizen participation, human rights and peacebuilding. She also has experience as a researcher on social and economic issues in Colombia and Latin America, including working for research centers at Universidad de Los Andes and Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

Juliana holds an M.Sc. in social policy and development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a postgraduate diploma in social economics from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad Industrial de Santander (Colombia).
